Abstract

ABSTRACT Stereotypes which eliminates to individuation in Postmodern era reveals exclusive, domineering situation in a peripheral system. This system, which desires to be community members' virtually a chimera while increasing individual loneliness and introverted draws catastrophic moods. This condition is usually seen as a disease of modern times, but in fact, identity crisis which one of the main problems of each era, in front of society and the individual arise as the alienation and loneliness psychology. The person seeking identity firstly begins spiritual journey with the question itself; adds to its society and geography; interrogation, proving, a sense of ownership which society and places the ripple occur. the point where the individual wants to achieve is this: between lived lands with own identity are a very close relationship; territories revealing itself, at the same time self has been built up; another aim is prove that the building bridge the triangle of time-space-person reliable. In this sense, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, stands on the issue of identity, seeking solutions to them, which contribute with works to the nation-building process one of the artist's. In this study, the process construction of national identity at the beginning of the 20th century which such a situation again ocur and problem of existence-erosion perhaps the most fell throughout the history of Turkey, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı's poetry will be examined in the context of spatial perception.
