Abstract

This study tries to evaluate the views of the foreign students –who came to Turkey to learn Turkish and study Turkish at the Universities Turkish Teaching Centers (TÖMER) -about the feedback aiming the development of their writing skill which is one of the four basic skills. At this study which focuses on determining what kind of development they achieve when they get feedback during their learning processes, it has been used descriptive survey method. Feedback scale has been applied on the foreign students who attend courses at the Turkish Teaching Research and Application Centres (TÖMER). At the research, the correlation between the students` answers to the feedback scale and the variables like age, sex, marriage status, current level of knowledge of Turkish and country of origin of the students had been investigated. Related to all these, when feedback aiming to developing their writing skills had been provided, the contribution of the feedback and whether they want the feedback or not had been evaluated. The sample of the study consists of 200 foreign national students who attend at the courses of B1, B2, C1 levels at Universities on spring term and on the fall term. The study is conducted by analysing the data which were taken from the IBM SPSS 23.0 statistical package program. For the analyses of the data which we get from the study it has been used frequency, percentage, median, t-test and oneway analysis of variance. When we look at the results of the study, feedback has a positive contribution on the writing activities.
