Abstract

Teaching methods enrich the learning environment, making learning easier. The importance of approaching interdisciplinary relations and issues from different angles has gradually increased in recent years and the integration of various disciplines in the educational environment has come to the fore. The multidisciplinary teaching method or approach is to exploit the knowledge and skills of multiple disciplines to understand a subject, a concept, or a concern. Through the teaching method of the multidisciplinary, the students gain different perspectives and establish relationships in different disciplines so that they can learn the relations between events, facts, concepts and ideas more easily and structure new information on them more easily. Since the information in the interdisciplinary approach is related to the other lessons, even the lessons that students dislike can be more enjoyable in their behalf. For example, for students who see that mathematics is not only composed of numbers, it can be used even in Turkish lessons, and this situation can become more and more exciting and exciting. The purpose of this research is to examine the activities in Turkish textbooks according to the interdisciplinary teaching approach. In the study, the data were obtained from the qualitative data collection methods by the method of document review. The level of interdisciplinary approach to the activities in the workbooks of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade Turkish lessons in secondary school was examined. It is observed that the use of interdisciplinary teaching method is often left to the teacher in the lessons. Interdisciplinary approaches should be included in curricula, and activities in workbooks should be organized accordingly.
