Integrating QR Codes into Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language: A Theoretical Study


Nowadays the use of QR codes in educational settings has been started to increase. This study aims to give theoretical information how to use QR codes in teaching Turkish as a foreign language in the scope of the literature review. Firstly, QR codes are introduced. Secondly, basic characteristics of QR codes are discussed. Then, how to generate and decode the QR code is described step by step. The names of the QR code applications that can be used are given as examples in this section. Then, the use of QR codes in education is mentioned. Finally, how to using QR codes in teaching Turkish as a foreign language can be described. It is seen that there are many ways to use QR codes in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. In other words, many situations that might come to mind are enriched by using QR codes. The Turkish language courses enriched with the QR codes which offer mobile learning experiences may be interesting in terms of students. As a result, the use of QR codes is one of the applications that can be suggested in teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
