In the present study, the metacognitive strategies that can be used in the listening education process in teaching Turkish as a foreign language and the application of the steps in these strategies were emphasized. The present study was conducted as a case study since it aimed to introduce listening strategies that could be used in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. The aim of the present study was to introduce the metacognitive strategy learning and instruction stages to learners of Turkish language and learners of Turkish as a foreign language, and to demonstrate the benefits of this strategy in active listening skills.
