Reduplication is a common style of expression in the World languages. Turkish is also one of the languages commonly used these reduplications. For this reason, reduplications have been studied for many times. These studies are generally syntactic because reduplications are syntactic construction that reinforcing meaning. However, there are also some examples in which the reduplications became stereotyped and lexicalise or those that emerged directly. In this case, the reduplications become morphological. But what really matters is whether the new word constructs should be regarded as a reduplication or a subtype of compound words. Because the structure of the reduplicated words is similar to the structure of the compound words. For this reason, in this study it will be evaluated whether the reduplications that contribute to the derivation of new words will be handled under a compound word heading.
