Abstract

Names are given to tangible and intangible assets and objects through the language which is a string of written signals. This naming is also reflective of the socio-cultural structure within the rules of language. The most important element that distinguishes assets is the independent morfem names. For this reason, the first element to recognize an asset is names. Each of the names corresponding to the asset and case are a coding from the past to the future. Language is the most important asset for transmitting information to future generations. Language reflects the life style, culture, world view, stages of society throughout history and relations with other societies. Thanks to the language, all this is transferred to future generations. The method of understanding and telling the world is hidden in the language of a nation. All this is seen in the vocabulary of a language. Vocabulary is a work area located within the word science of linguistics. All of the words in a language are called vocabulary. Vocabulary all words of a language; the sum of the words in a vocabulary of a person or a community. The vocabulary of Turkish in the Old Turkish period, which includes Köktürk, Old Uyghur and Karahanlı periods, contains the total of Turkish words between the 8th and 13th centuries. Animal names in this period are significant in terms of both phonem and morfem value. With this study, the concept of animal names in Old Turkish period will be fully determined.
