Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to determine the frequency of vocabulary by examining the existence of words from the story/tale which are one of the types of storytelling texts written by special talented students. In the introductory section, the students with special talents and their characteristics have been explained, the term "frequency" has been defined and then the information about the diachronic and synchronic frequency studies has been given. In the other part of the study, the importance of frequency studies in Turkish teaching for special talented students has been mentioned; How much and how often idioms, proverbs, reduplications and collocations which are one of the main elements of our vocabulary and show the literary elegance and aesthetic, the richness of expression and imagination of a person’s narration is used in the written expression of the special talented students have been examined here. Moreover, it has also examined how much these students can reflect the characteristics of the stories to their writings. As a result of our determinations; it has been understood that the story/tale texts created by the special talented students are rich from the point of the elements of vocabulary; effective in terms of the use of Turkish and a successful output in terms of word and expression diversity. Besides, the students are good at reflecting the characteristics of the story/tale to their writings.
