Abstract
Dil biliminde semiyotik ve semantik çalışmaları, modern anlamda Ferdinand de Saussure’le başlar. Gösterge bilimi olarak da bilinen semiyotikte zihinde var olan bir göstergenin anlıksal bellekte nasıl oluştuğu sorusunun cevabı vardır. Buna göre, göstergeler işitimsel ses dizgesi olan gösterenle kavramın anlam boyutunu içeren gösterilenden oluşur. Toplum bilimin de konusu olan semiyotikte kimi göstergeler uzlaşımsal özellikleriyle yer alır. Bu uzlaşımsal özelliklerin başında göstergelerin simgesel kullanılması vardır. Kısaca anlamı inceleyen bilim olarak bilinen semantik, dil biliminin en tartışmalı koludur. Bu kolu tartışmalı kılan neden anlamın kişilere ve bağlama göre değişeceği düşüncesidir. Dede Korkut Kitabı sadece söylendiği ve yazıldığı dönemler itibariyle değil, içeriğindeki bilgilerle Oğuz Türklerin dünya görüşünü aksettiren sihirli bir aynadır. Ona nüfuz etmesini bilen onda Türk tarihine, örf ve geleneklerine, inanç sistemine, mitolojisine vb. konulara ait birçok bilgi bulacaktır. Bu yönüyle bu eser, Oğuz Türklerine ait bir el kitabı gibidir. Dede Korkut Kitabı’nda kimi kavramlar simgesel özellikleriyle yer almaktadır. Eserde simgesel özellikleriyle kullanılan kavramlardan biri de ağaç kavramıdır. Ağaç kavramı, Oğuz Türklerinin inanç sistemine dair önemli ipuçları vermektedir. Ayrıca bu kavram toplumsal hayatın hemen her alanında kullanılmasıyla da dikkat çekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, öncelikle Dede Korkut Kitabı’nın Türk edebiyatındaki yeri ve önemi hakkında bilgi verilecektir. Sonra semiyotik ve semantik hakkında bu çalışmaya bakan yönüyle değerlendirmelerde bulunulacaktır. Daha sonra da Dede Korkut Kitabı’nda ağaç kavramı, bir milletin dünya görüşünü ortaya koyan kavram alanı kuramı yöntemiyle semiyotik ve semantik açıdan incelenecektir.

Abstract
The study of semiotics and semantics in Linguistic starts with Ferdinand de Saussure in the modern sense. Semiotics, known also as semiology, has the answer to the question how a sign that is present in the mind come into existence in immediate memory. According to this, signs comprise of signifier that is acoustic sound system and of signified that carries the meaning of a concept. In semiotics which is also a subject of sociology some of the signs have conventional features. The figurative usage of signs takes an important place in these conventional features. Semantic, shortly described as a science that analyzes meaning, is one of the most debatable field of Linguistics. What gives rise to this discussion is the thought of meaning changes according to individuals and context. Dede Korkut book is a magic mirror that reflects worldview of Turks with the knowledge it includes. Those who know this book in all its parts will be able to find a lot of information regarding Turkish language, history, mores, belief system, mythology e.t.c. With this aspect, this book functions as a handbook of Ghuzz Turks. Some concepts take place with their figurative features in Dede Korkut and one of them is tree. The concept of tree provides significant clues as to belief system of Ghuzz Turks. Besides, this concept attracts notice since it used in nearly all the field of social life. In this study firstly information about importance and place of Dede Korkut in Turkish Literature will be discussed Later, semiotic and semantic will be analyzed with the aspect of this study. Finally the concept of tree in Dede Korkut will be analyzed with the aspect of semantic and semiotic.
