Abstract
Bu çalışma, Türkçe öğretmen adaylarının “kuzen” kelimesiyle ilgili kavramsal çatılarını belirleyerek bilişsel yapılarını ortaya koymak ve bu doğrultuda ödünçleme bir kelime olan kuzenden hareketle ödünçlemelerin dile olan etkisini tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veriler toplam 99 öğretmen adayının katılımıyla toplanmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında bağımsız kelime ilişkilendirme testi kullanılmıştır. Veriler içerik analizine göre düzenlenmiş, Türkçe öğretmen adaylarının “kuzen” kavramına vermiş oldukları cevaplar kodlanarak kategorilere ayrılmıştır. Bu kategorilere göre frekans değerleri verilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler toplam 6 kategori altında toplanmıştır. Bunlar: akraba, sosyal etkinlikler, sosyal hayat, duygular, farklı isimlendirmeler ve kuzenin kökenidir. Ayrıca katılımcıların belirlenen kategorilerden hareketle “kuzen” kavramıyla ilgili alternatif kavramlara sahip oldukları da görülmüştür.

Abstract
This study has been carried out in order for Turkish preservice teachers to determine the conceptual framework of the word “cousin” and to reveal its cognitive structures and thus to conclude the impact of loanwords on language with reference to the loanword “cousin”. Qualitative research method was applied in this study. Data was obtained from 99 Turkish preservice teachers’. The free word association test were used as data collection instruments. The data collected were subject to content analysis. Based on the categories, frequency was provided. The data collected through the study were divided in to 6 categories, which were stated as follows: relative, social activites, social life, emotions, different denotations and the origin of cousin. In addition, it was determined that they had some alternative concepts about “cousin”.
