Abstract
Değer eğitimi uygulamalarında edebî eserlerden okumalar yapma yoluyla değer edindirme önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Elif Şafak’ın çocuk edebiyatı sahasında verdiği tek eseri olan Sakız Sardunya romanı değerler eğitimi bağlamında okunmuş, romanda yer alan değerler Bacanlı’nın tasnifine göre incelenmiştir. Çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modelinde bir çalışmadır. Veriler doküman incelemesi tekniği ile elde edilmiş, ulaşılan veriler betimsel analiz kullanılarak yorumlanmıştır. Sakız Sardunya romanında tespit edilen Kişinin Kendisiyle İlgili Değerler; hayal gücü ve keşif arzusu değeri, öğrenme merakı değeri, ümitvâr olma değeri, özgürlük değeri, başarı ve kararlılık değeri, doğruluk ve dürüstlük değeri, özgüven değeri olmak üzere yedi tanedir. Kişinin İlişkileri ile İlgili Değerler; Sevgi değeri, saygı ve nezaket, sorumluluk, iyilik olmak üzere dört tanedir. Sevgi değerinin; hayvan sevgisi, aile sevgisi, kitap sevgisi şeklinde alt başlıkları vardır. İçinde Yaşanılan Toplumla İlgili Değerler; misafirperverlik, temizlik olmak üzere iki tanedir. Doğa ve Evren ile İlgili Değerler ise doğa sevgisi olmak üzere bir tanedir. Eserde en fazla yer alan değerler Kişinin Kendisiyle İlgili Değerler olmuştur. Elif Şafak, eserinde kimi zaman doğrudan nasihat yoluyla kimi zaman da kahramanların başından geçen olaylar ya da diyaloglar aracılığıyla değer eğitimine girebilecek mesajlarını açık ya da örtük bir şekilde iletmiştir. Öğretim programlarında da yer alan ve öğrencilere kazandırılması gereken pek çok değerin, idealize edilmiş örnek bir çocuk profili yoluyla aktarıldığı söylenebilir.

Abstract
Acquiring value through reading from literary works has an important place in value education practices. In this study, the novel Sakız Sardunya, which is the only work of Elif Şafak in the field of children's literature, was read in the context of values education and the values in the novel were examined according to Bacanlı's classification. The study is one of the qualitative research methods, in scanning model. The data were obtained using the document analysis technique, and the data obtained were interpreted using descriptive analysis. Values Related to Oneself determined in the novel Sakız Sardunya; The value of imagination and desire for discovery, the value of learning curiosity, the value of being hopeful, the value of freedom, the value of success and determination, the value of truthfulness and honesty, and the value of self-confidence. Values Related to Person's Relationships; There are four of them: love value, respect and kindness, responsibility and kindness. The value of love; love for animals, love for family, love for books. Values Related to the Society We Live In; hospitality and cleanliness. Nature and Universe-related Values are one, namely love of nature. The most important values in the work were the Values About the Person's Self. In her work, Elif Şafak has conveyed her messages that can be entered into value education, sometimes through direct advice and sometimes through events or dialogues that have happened to the heroes, in an explicit or implicit way. It can be said that many values that are also included in the curriculum and that need to be acquired by students are conveyed through an idealized sample child profile.
