L’impact du Covid-19 sur l’Enseignement Supérieur: le Cas du Département de Français de l’Université Gazi

Abstract

Dans cette étude, nous avons eu pour objectif d’évaluer les opinions des étudiants au Département de Français langue étrangère de la Faculté de pédagogie au sein de l’Université Gazi sur l’enseignement à distance durant la pandémie du Covid-19 qui bouleversa le monde entier. À cette fin, un questionnaire dont la grande majorité fut constitué de questions ouvertes semi-structurées fut appliqué aux étudiants de premier cycle (licence) du Département au trimestre de printemps de l’année académique 2020-2021. Le lien du questionnaire préparé sur Google Docs fut envoyé aux étudiants qui furent informés au préalable par courriel. Un délai d’à peu près une semaine fut déterminée et les étudiants furent priés d’y répondre en turc. 40 étudiants de niveaux de classe différents dans le Département ont participé volontairement à l’étude et ont exprimé leurs opinions sur l’enseignement à distance donné durant cette période. L’étude fut menée en tant qu’étude de cas selon un modèle d’étude de cas unique holistique qui est un des modèles de l’étude qualitative. Les opinions des étudiants ont été analysées avec la méthode d’analyse de contenu et ont d’abord été présentés sous formes de tableaux selon des catégories précises. Par la suite, ces tableaux furent interprétés et une détermination de situation en découla. Les résultats de l’étude peuvent être pris en considération dans le cadre d’éventuelles futures études destinées à améliorer la qualité de l’enseignement à distance actuellement en vigueur.

Abstract

In this study, we had the objective of assessing the opinions of students pursuing their education at the French Department of the Faculty of Education of Gazi University on distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic which took hold of the entire world. To that end, a survey of mostly open-ended semi-structured questions was applied to undergraduate students during the Fall semester of the 2021-2021 academic year. The link of the survey prepared on Google Docs was sent to students via e-mail and the students were preliminarily informed of the survey. A deadline of approximately one week was given and students were asked to answer in Turkish. 40 students from all class levels and pursuing their education at the Department have participated voluntarily in the study and have expressed their opinions on distance learning implemented during the pandemic. The study has been conducted as a case study and was based on a holistic single case pattern, a pattern of qualitative study modeling. The opinions expressed by students were analyzed with the content analysis method and were first presented as tables under categories determined. Then, these tables were interpreted and resulted in due diligence (determination of situation). The results of the study could be taken into consideration in the framework of possible future studies aimed at improving the quality of distance learning currently implemented.
