The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially announced the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results. This announcement was made on Wednesday following the successful conclusion of the BECE Award Committee meeting held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
A total of 179,201 candidates registered for the 2025 BECE across 12 subjects, making it one of the most widely taken junior secondary school exams in the country. The exam began on May 12, 2025, and concluded on May 23, 2025.
In a statement issued by Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Public Affairs, NECO confirmed that the results were released after the Award Committee reviewed the processes and expressed satisfaction with how the examination and marking were conducted. The committee, chaired by Dr. (Mrs.) Folake David of the Federal Ministry of Education included NECO officials and secondary school principals from across Nigeria.
