Any other three (3) subjects from:-

  • Literature in English
  • Christian Religious Studies / Islamic Studies

O’Level Admission Requirements for French

Whether you want to apply for admission to study French through the UTME or direct entry route, you must have at least five (5) credit passes in your O’Level result (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB). These must include:-

  • French
  • English Language
  • And one other relevant Arts subject (such as Literature in English, Government, CRS/IRS, etc.)

These subjects are essential because they show that you have a strong background in languages and the Arts. Make sure these credits are obtained in not more than two sittings.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements for French

If you are applying through Direct Entry, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:-

  • Two (2) A-Level passes, which must include: French (compulsory), and one other Arts subject (like Literature in English, History, CRS, or Government).
  • Alternatively, candidates with a relevant NCE (National Certificate in Education) or Diploma in French or related fields may also be considered, depending on the university’s specific admission policy.

Note: Direct Entry applicants are usually admitted into the 200-level, so having a strong academic background in French is very important.
