NECO Examination 2025 Guidelines
Before you sit for the NECO 2025 exams, there are some important things you need to know.
- If the time on your question paper is different from the timetable, always follow the time on the question paper.
- Every candidate must come with their NECO photo card for identification. No photo card, no entry into the exam hall.
- For practical subjects like Computer Studies, Science, and Stenography, candidates may be split into groups if equipment is not enough.
- For certain subjects, questions must be given ahead of time:
- Visual Arts Paper IV (Creative Design) – at least 1 week before the exam.
- Welding & Fabrication and Engineering Craft Practice – at least 3 weeks before the exam.
- Dyeing & Bleaching, Photography, Painting & Decoration, Leather Goods, and Printing Craft – at least 2 weeks before the exam.
- If you miss the practical paper (Paper I) for any subject, you will not receive a result for that subject.
- Scientific calculators are allowed, but programmable calculators are not.
- No electronic devices are allowed in the exam hall. This includes:
- Mobile phones
- Smartwatches
- Tablets/iPads
- Programmable calculators
- Electronic pens, glasses, or any gadget with communication features
- Blind and albino candidates are allowed 30 extra minutes at the end of each paper.
- Blind candidates must use the special NECO-supplied customized braille sheets during the exams.
- Nigerian language subjects (like Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, Efik, and Ibibio) will include literature components.
- For subjects like Physical Education, Auto Mechanics, French, Music, and Arabic (Paper IV), make sure to confirm the correct venue for the practicals.
