Examination Structure

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Geography examination is structured into three distinct papers, each designed to assess different competencies within the subject. Candidates are required to sit for all three papers.​

Paper 1: Objective Test

  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Format: 50 multiple-choice questions
  • Coverage: Entire Geography syllabus, excluding elementary surveying
  • Marks: 50 marks
  • Requirement: All questions are compulsory.

Paper 2: Essay Test

  • Duration: 2 hours
