Abstract

The Turkic dialects are a large family which are spoken by approximately 250 million people from East Europe to Siberia and West of China. In this study we discuss at first language death, where and when languages become extinct, then move specifically to Turkic dialects. After, we discuss the divergence of Turkish in 20 literary alphabets, which is natural process or result of language planning, and then go into the language policy on Turkic dialects and endangered Turkic dialects. The aim of this study is to save and to revive endangered Turkic dialects. In this study, which is directed towards Turkish dialects, descriptive scanning model was used as qualitative research methods. Tofa, Duha and Pamir Kyrgyzcas were studied as target population. As a result of Turkish dialects research, it is evident that the very different writing languages are the result of consciously applied language plans. The foreign powers who imposed the "divide-break-swallow" attitude reached their targets and broke the Turkish language unity. It is very difficult to live a culture without language. The fact that the number of Turkish dialects and writing languages is so great is an obstacle for Turkish society as well as being rich in Turkish. Some Turkish communities use the Arabic alphabet, some Latin, and others use the Cyrillic alphabet, which is the most concrete indication of not understanding each other. In this respect, it will be a benefit for both the name and the name of the other dialects that the dialects which are at least in close proximity to one another, in the same colony or in a group, enter a common writing language.
